The name of this porcelain storage jar is termed as 'kamcheng' which means love in hokkien. The 'kamcheng' is filled with red and white dumpling balls during a Baba and Nonya's wedding. Red represents jubilation while white means purity. The Peranakan tradition believes that newly-wed couple who eats the dumpling balls from the kamcheng will never part.

Thanks! This is one of my favorite porcelain... however, because of the glass display and lighting condition picture taken was not too ideal.

keep the photos going! frankly, i really didnt notice these beautiful porcelain in the museums, having being attracted by the colourful peranankan clothing.
